Merry Christmas James.

Did you actually consult anyone before organising a party though? I hope you keep the noise down and aren't too rowdy. I plan to start my post christmas revision program tomorrow evening.
Remus Jane Lupin: Grintasticmoopylunin on December 25th, 2005 12:05 am (UTC)
Aww, come on, Lily. Have a butterbeer. It's not as if we'll get any work done anyway with this lot carrying on til all hours.
Lily Evansvilyofthelalley on December 25th, 2005 12:11 am (UTC)
Well, I suppose if you are there to be the voice of reason I might come.

We can stop things from getting out of hand.
Remus Jane Lupin: Lolzmoopylunin on December 25th, 2005 12:17 am (UTC)
And if we fail we can always hide in the corner and make fun of everyone else.
Lily Evans: Gosh!vilyofthelalley on December 25th, 2005 12:20 am (UTC)
That could be fun.I'm sort of looking forward to it now.
James Potter: Heeeee hello Evans. Can I lick you?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 12:06 am (UTC)
Merry Christmas, Evans.

Oh yes. Dumbledore himself approved it. Of course ... Bach shall be kept at a pleasant level. Oh jolly good.
Remus Jane Lupin: I am pretending not to be amusedmoopylunin on December 25th, 2005 12:08 am (UTC)
Are you really playing Bach, James? I'm more of a Debussy fan but it's not especially Christmassy.
James Potter: Heeeee hello Evans. Can I lick you?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 12:13 am (UTC)
I would prefer Tchaikovsky but Sirius ate it.
Remus Jane Lupin: omgwtfheemoopylunin on December 25th, 2005 12:18 am (UTC)
Is there NOTHING that boy won't eat? He's like a goat. You know I think he ate my Charms textbook.
James Potter: Heeeee hello Evans. Can I lick you?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 12:22 am (UTC)
Naw he props that up to look like he's reading it but actually there's a porno mag behind it ... I wouldn't want to back if I were you.
Remus Jane Lupin: No commentmoopylunin on December 25th, 2005 12:26 am (UTC)
I am going to kill him. I don't want to be thinking about porn when I'm being lectured by Professor Flitwick. Eurgh.
James Potter: EH. WHAT!? ... CHEESECAKE?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 02:17 am (UTC)

You ARE a girl!
Remus Jane Lupin: I sneer at youmoopylunin on December 25th, 2005 10:53 am (UTC)
I don't mean I don't ever ... I mean ... I just don't ... oh sod off.
Lily Evans: Sulkingvilyofthelalley on December 25th, 2005 12:18 am (UTC)
I'm surprised you even know who Bach is.

You know I don't mind. . music.

It is simply that the last party you had in the common room- you managed to turn all the furniture into farmyard animals, in a reckless, albeit rather impressive display of drunken transfiguration.

I don't want to have to un-trasfigure them all again while you loll about with a hangover, wailing like a baby girl.
James Potter: EH. WHAT!? ... CHEESECAKE?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 12:40 am (UTC)
Excuse me but Johann Sebastian Bach featured quite a bit in my upbringing. And it would be almost foolish of me not to have heard of him ... saying as he is universally recognized as one of three giants of music composition(along with Mozart and Beethoven).

Though in saying this I don't particularly like his music, even though many of his themes —particularly the theme from Toccata and Fugue in D minor— have been used in rock songs repeatedly and have received notable popularity, I find it rather repetitive and would pick Beethoven or Tchaikovsky over him any day.
Lily Evans: Mevilyofthelalley on December 25th, 2005 12:49 am (UTC)
I am very impressed, James.

Obviously the sonatas and fugues were the least inspiring of his works, exemplifying the repetitive trend of baroque music. However I find that his less well known unaccompanied work is more beautiful, his violin partitas, and of course the cello suites, which have a surprisingly modern and ethereal air to them.

I do find Beethoven beautiful, and Tchaikovsky, but the Romantic period is sometimes too melodramatic for me. I love late romantic - early 20th century composers, as Remus mentioned, Debussy, and also Prokofiev is incredibly charming.

Of course there is always an exception to the rule, and my favourite is Sibelius.
James Potter: Heeeee hello Evans. Can I lick you?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 01:16 am (UTC)
MUSIC. SHE LIKES MUSIC. DSKFNSDLKNLKALASSDLLDSDLKS

Sibelius? The Finnish composer? I'm not sure ... his work is very ... well he does seem to overdo the pedal points some times, which in my opinion can make his work seem insufficiently complex. Though in saying this I adore Valse Triste, the violin ... it's just stunning. I wish my violin standard was higher so I could do the piece justice.
Lily Evans: Gosh!vilyofthelalley on December 25th, 2005 01:21 am (UTC)
You play the violin? I never knew. That is so. . . interesting.

I used to play myself when I was younger, but I didn't being the instrument with meto Hogwarts and it sort of fell by the wayside. I'd love to pick it up again though.
James Potter: Heeeee hello Evans. Can I lick you?ihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 01:40 am (UTC)
Well yeah. It's like the gay man's version of the guitar ... or maybe that's cello ... I can play a bit of that too.

I'm sure you could if you wanted ... loads of empty classrooms to practice in ... I'd help you if you wanted ... alone ... and ... empty classroom.
Lily Evans: Gosh!vilyofthelalley on December 25th, 2005 01:51 am (UTC)
...

Well if that is the case, you probably would be better helping Sirius. . alone . . in an empty classroom.

Thank you ever so much for the offer, but I wouldn't want to cramp your 'gay man's' style.
James Potter: OMG I AM SO ANGRY WITH YOU RIGHT NOWihavebigprongs on December 25th, 2005 01:53 am (UTC)
FINE. Well then MAYBE while Sirius and I are GAYING IT UP you and REMUS can go somewhere and play FIND THE SNITCH IN EACH OTHERS MOUTHS.

IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE OBVIOUS FACT THAT YOU AND SIRIUS ACT LIKE FLAMING HOMOSEXUALS AROUND EACH OTHER THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BRING IT UP!

AND WHATEVER REMUS AND I MIGHT DO, ONE THING IS CERTAIN, IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!
